Cranial Corrections & Palate Expansion

Cranial growth is one of the most important foundations for a child’s overall health. The skull and palate remain soft and adaptable throughout early childhood, which means gentle, precise corrections can guide healthy development of the airway, face, and nervous system.

We offer cranial corrections and palate expansion support starting as early as 6 months of age. This care is especially helpful for:

  • Plagiocephaly (flat spots or asymmetrical head shape)

  • Eye asymmetries or uneven facial features

  • Small or narrow jaws that may affect breathing and dental development

  • Crowded teeth or bite concerns before orthodontic care begins

  • Mouth breathing, snoring, or restless sleep in children

  • Delayed milestones or posture challenges linked to cranial imbalance

By restoring motion and symmetry to the cranial system, these gentle corrections can:

  • Encourage palate widening for healthier airway and jaw growth

  • Support nasal breathing and sleep quality

  • Improve facial balance and alignment

  • Reduce strain on the nervous system

For infants, this work can provide a natural alternative to helmets for head-shape concerns. For older children, it can complement orthodontic, myofunctional, or airway-focused therapies.

Our goal is to help the body develop and function at its highest potential—naturally, safely, and effectively.

Weston A. Price Philosphy

the natural way

Research from Dr. Weston A. Price showed that traditional cultures eating nutrient-dense, unprocessed foods developed wide jaws, strong palates, and beautifully aligned teeth—all without orthodontics. These diets required proper chewing, which naturally expanded the palate and supported healthy airway and facial growth.

Today, softer processed foods and modern habits often lead to narrow jaws, crowded teeth, and compromised breathing. Gentle cranial corrections and palate support help restore this natural design—encouraging the same wide, open faces and resilient structures our ancestors enjoyed.

Start Any Time

Why: This is when plagiocephaly (flat spots), cranial asymmetries, and early palate narrowing are most common.

What We Do: Gentle cranial corrections and palate support, guiding natural head and facial symmetry.

Parent Guidance: We coach moms on nutrient-dense first foods and simple oral and body exercises to encourage proper cranial alignment and development.

Why: By this stage, the jaw and airway are growing rapidly, and chewing mechanics become even more important. Narrow jaws and facial imbalance often begin to show more clearly.

What We Do: Continued cranial and palate support to encourage proper width and alignment, helping set the stage for healthy breathing, sleep, and dental development.

While the earlier years offer the greatest opportunity to guide growth, older children and teens still benefit greatly. At this stage, we often co-manage with holistic airway dentists. Our role is to keep the cranium, the cervical and thoracic spine and nervous system balanced, helping to decompress the musculo-skeletal system so that orthodontic tools like braces or expanders can work more effectively—and often more comfortably.
